Located just northeast of historic Hunter Hall, the university’s WNMU Alumni Garden was unveiled in 2006 in honor of Mustangs who have stepped on campus since 1893. The tranquility and beauty of the garden serve as a central location for alumni gatherings and university events as well as for students and members of the community to congregate with one another or to snap that ever-important selfie.

Global Resource Center

The WNMU Besse-Forward Global Resource Center (GRC) is home to high-tech academic instruction housing computer labs, high tech classrooms and a 200-seat auditorium. The front lawn of the GRC showcases the building’s architecture, a sculpture and green lawn, perfect for that family shot with the graduate.

Silver City Museum Courtyard

Housed in the restored 1881 H.B. Ailman House, the Silver City Museum is home to more than 20,000 objects relating to the history of southwest New Mexico. The museum’s courtyard is often the center of community activities and events, including the annual Fourth of July ice cream social and the Town’s Territorial Charter Day.

Big Ditch Park

Off Campus

On July 21, 1895, a rush of water barreled downtown and obliterated the streets and businesses that were old main street, leaving a ditch that was 55 feet below the original street level, creating what is now known as Big Ditch Park (or just the Big Ditch). Whether you’re snapping on the bridge or along the Big Ditch trail, your pics are bound to turn some heads.
